Talent Show held at the Monticello High School Auditorium. Admission is $4 for everyone. Featuring instrumental, vocal, dance, comedy, piano, and drama performed by individuals, groups, senior citizens, adults, and students.

Fine Arts & Crafts Show with over 65 displays selling handcrafted items and “Taste of Monticello” food and beverage vendors. Held outdoors at Ellison Park along the banks of the Mississippi River. Enjoy local entertainment while you shop, including Monticello Community Band from 1 to 3pm.
Children welcome.  Kids in the Park includes:
Train Rides and games
Face painting by the Monticello Royalty
This event is organized by the Monticello Chamber of Commerce

Riverfest 5K Run/Walk

8:30am Certified course starts and finishes at West Bridge Park at the intersection of River Street and Highway 25 near downtown Monticello. It is a flat, fast, out and back course. Refreshments provided after the race.

5K Registration
$18 online through July 10. Click here to Register Online.
$20 if postmarked by July 6th.  Mailing address is on the form.
$20 Race day registration – starting at 7:15am.
2015 T-Shirts guaranteed to first 300 registered in 5K (register early).  After 300, previous year’s shirts will be given out.

Kids Fun Runs!

9:20am
No registration required.  Meet at West Bridge Park behind the 5K finish area by 9:10 am and announcements will be made for each Kids Run at that point. Toddler Trot is approximately 250 Meters and Kids Run is approximately 700 Meters. You decide which run is most appropriate for your child.  No age categories or official results.

2015 Taste of Monticello

Event Description:
The Taste of Monticello is held outdoors, rain or shine at Ellison Park on the banks of the Mississippi River in Monticello, Minnesota. Paired with the art show, The Taste of Monticello features ten of Monticello Chamber restaurants and caterers serving their favorite dishes on site. We will also have games for kids and entertainment in the Kids in the Park area on the east side of the park. This show is well established and draws a crowd each year of over 5,000 people. A shuttle bus is provided for fair goers for parking ease throughout the area. This is truly one of the nicest shows in mid-Minnesota.

4th Annual Bean Bag Tournament

10:00am – 3:30pm
Located at Ellison Park.
Registration $30 per team. Register in advance or at 9 am on day of tournament.
Two person teams. You can have 1 alternate on your team.
Prize payout: $500 first place team; $200 second place team; $100 third place team.

2015 Riverfest Street Dance

Date: July 11, 2015
Time: 6:00 PM – 11:30 PM CDT

Street Dance

Takes place in the Monticello Community Center parking lot. Beer Garden will be on site. Concession Stand with food and beverages available starting at 6:00 pm. No outside food or beverages allowed.

6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Music with a DJ – spinning tunes from the past through the present.
Monticello High School All-Class Reunion –
Graduates from 1908 to present are invited.

8:00 pm – 11:30 pm
Street Dance at the Monticello Community Center featuring The Fabulous Armadillos!

PARADE DAY!!!!

Community Worship Service in Ellison Park9:00am
Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and find a spot in the shade. Enjoy the summer weather with this outdoor worship service in Ellison Park. Service will be held at the far west side of the park.


2015 Riverfest – Parade

Date: July 12, 2015

Time: 12:30 PM – 5:30 PM

The Parade RouteThe parade starts on 3rd Street at the Monticello American Legion Club and heads East to Walnut Street. Then it will take a right on Walnut Street and head South until 6th Street. The Parade takes a right on 6th Street and heads West to Minnesota Street where it turns South and ends on 7th Street. The parade will not cross Highway 25. (Parade units will end up near the area where they lined up.)ALL OTHER EVENTS—Following parade are at Ellison ParkThe 2015 Riverfest Parade will feature 3 high school bands plus a new drum line group!Do you have a convertible that can be used in the parade for Monticello Royalty candidates? Ellison Park Celebration

2:00pm – 5:30pm

After the parade, head down to Ellison Park for the rest of the festivities!

Two shuttle buses will be provided from parade time until evening.

Chicken Dinner

The Monticello Boy Scouts will be serving the traditional chicken dinner. New this year, the chicken dinner will be catered by Von Hanson’s Meats of Monticello. The food will be served from 2:00pm – 5:30pm.

Tickets are available at the park on Sunday:
Adult meal $7.00
Children 12 and under $5.00
Preschoolers are free with a paid adult

And so much more!

Other concessions include River dogs from Von Hansons’s Meats, snowcones, rootbeer floats, cookies and more.
CentraCare Wellness Van will be at the park.
Live Music by the “Moxie Blues” Band.
Kids games for all ages including carnival games and inflatables.

Duck Race

3:00pm

Duck Race on the Mississippi River. The drop happens at 3:30 pm on the Hwy 25 bridge. Watch the race from the banks of the river in Ellison Park. Winners announced at 5:00pm.

Cash Prizes totaling up to $10,000 (based on donations received) to include:

7th – 29th –  $100
